About the Role: Data Analyst (Hybrid 2-3 days)

We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to join a leading financial services organisation based in Manchester. In this role, you will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, support data-driven decision-making, and play a critical part in optimizing business performance within a fast-paced, data-rich environment.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and interpret complex financial and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and automate dashboards and reports to provide stakeholders with real-time insights and performance metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across finance, risk, and operations to understand business challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to support strategic initiatives and optimize business processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by implementing robust validation and cleansing techniques.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting processes, and analytics capabilities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Support the implementation of new data tools and platforms to enhance the organization’s analytics capabilities.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the finance industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI (or similar visualization tools).
  • Strong understanding of financial datasets, metrics, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience in creating dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of data cleansing, validation, and preparation processes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
  • Experience working with financial risk, compliance, or performance datasets.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst or relevant financial qualifications.
