Day Rate: £600 – £750 per day (depending on experience)

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in the insurance market to join a leading organization in London. In this role, you will design and implement scalable, high-quality solutions to transform core insurance platforms, enhance digital capabilities, and modernize legacy systems. You will work closely with key stakeholders across business, technology, and operations to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and industry regulations.

This is an Inside IR35 contract role, offering an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-evolving sector.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectural solutions tailored to the needs of the insurance industry, including policy administration, claims processing, and underwriting systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into scalable, future-proof technical solutions.
• Provide leadership in the modernization of legacy systems, enabling migration to cloud-based platforms and digital technologies.
• Ensure solutions meet regulatory, compliance, and data security requirements specific to the insurance market.
• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and design specifications.
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and recommending their adoption where beneficial.
• Conduct risk assessments and establish mitigation strategies during the design and implementation phases.
• Act as a trusted advisor, engaging with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, with a focus on the insurance market (e.g., policy, claims, underwriting systems).
• Expertise in designing solutions for complex enterprise systems, including integrations with APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory frameworks in the insurance sector.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with digital transformation projects, including legacy system modernization and cloud migrations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with architectural tools such as ArchiMate, Visio, or Lucidchart.
• Knowledge of data management and security best practices.

Desirable:

• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or TOGAF Certification.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Confluence.
• Familiarity with core insurance platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar.
• Understanding of data analytics platforms and their role in the insurance industry.
